Another job that would be somewhat easy on the shoulder is to install the main powerline from the transformer to the house. About 180' of trench 2' wide and 3' deep was required. The backhoe sure worked well for this. Ha!
After the power company dropped in the powerline, I dropped in a phone line. Then the ditch was partially filled and caution tape was placed in the trench. Now the trench could be filled and leveled off.
